The Campesino Committee of the Highlands (CCDA), the Mayan social movement that produces Cafe Justicia, continues to struggle to support members affected by last month's devastating tropical storm Agatha. Below, a brief update from CCDA national coordinator Leocadio Juracan Salome.

Dear CompaƱeros,

We want to send you all a great recognition and thank you for the wonderful work you are doing in support of the compaƱeros affected by the Agatha storm. We continue to supply food to the emergency shelters and, after our shelter in La Cruz was wiped out by another mudslide, we are investigating the possiblity of transferring those in the more vulnerable shelters to safer locations.

I also wanted to tell you that we are making a a nutritional homemade bread to supplement the diets of the children in the shelters; it's a bread that has milk, egg, flour and banana and this provides some important nutrients.

Please tell the Canadians that we appreciate their solidarity both material and moral. It keeps of strong in the face of this terrible disaster.

Fraternal greetings and we hope you are all well.

Atte.

Leocadio
